India cases cross 27,500 with another big spike in Maharashtra:

Maharashtra has crossed the 8000 mark with 342 deaths Covid-19
count.1607 was the single day count for Sunday. With a total of more than 27,500
total cases with 881 deaths. Gujarat stood second in state wise case count. With
3,301 cases and 151 deaths followed by Delhi and Rajasthan with 2,918 and 2,221
cases. Union health minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday said the coronavirus
situation in the country is improving as many hotspot districts are moving
towards being non-hotspot districts. The minister visited All India Institute
of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre to take stock of the preparedness to overcome
Covid-19, a statement from the ministry said.

Sensex jumps over 600 points as auto, bank stocks surge
Equity indices surged on Monday with the benchmark BSE sensex
rising over 600 points in opening trade led by gains in bank, auto and pharma
stocks, amid positive global cues. The 30-share BSE index was up 630 points or
2.01 per cent to 31,958; while the broader NSE Nifty rose 174 points or 1.90
per cent to 9,329.
PM to interact with CMs on Monday to discuss way out of lockdown
PM Modi will interact with chief ministers via video conference
on Monday morning on the way ahead in the fight against the coronavirus, amid
indications that the discussions could also focus on a graded exit from the
lockdown. This will be the third video conference of the PM with the chief
ministers after the spread of the Covid-19 in the country.

Asking people to observe Ramzan as a time of restraint,
sensitivity and service, PM Narendra Modi expressed hope that the pandemic
would have been tackled by the time of Eid, clearing the way for the festival
to be celebrated with enthusiasm. "This time, we should pray more than

India's first Covid-19 patient treated with plasma therapy
recovers
The first patient who was administered convalescent plasma
therapy on compassionate grounds in Delhi has now fully recovered. The patient
was discharged on Sunday with a promising prognosis. The 49-year-old male
patient from Delhi had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 4
